On the initiative of the Education Department of the Church of England (the NSE, which is one of the founding organisations of GPEN), a new global network around flourishing education is taking shape. At a conference in Scotland in March, representatives of organisations involved in Christian education together with a number of researchers from across the world discussed the way forward with this new initiative that uses the acronym GFCE, which stands for Global Forum for Christian Education. GFCE aims to be an international partnership of education associations, system leaders and researchers to shape leadership, thinking and practice around the flourishing of children, adults and schools.
A second conference is planned in March 2027, taking place in South-Africa. The GPEN team and a number of our council members are involved in further shaping and organising this forum. We will continue to look for opportunities for our members and partners to benefit from its activities and products and we will keep you informed about this.
